Marions Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to creating a world where every person has access to the resources they need to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
For over 12 years, we have served as a lifeline for visually impaired children in impoverished communities. Through our deep-rooted partnerships with institutions like St. Francis School, Kapenguria, Kibos, and Thika Schools for the Blind, we ensure that these children don't just survive—they excel.
We go beyond traditional charity by addressing the total needs of the child:
Marions Foundation is incorporated in Massachusetts and registered as a Public Charity in Connecticut CHR.0069971-EXEMPT
"It began with a news report we couldn't ignore."
In 2014, a heartbreaking report on Kenya Television Network (KTN) changed our lives forever. We watched a family in unimaginable poverty, struggling to care for four children who were blind. Their raw despair pierced our souls, and we knew we couldn't simply turn away.
Driven by compassion, we reached out to that family—and Marions Foundation was born.
The First Step Toward a New Life
"Watching the news was the spark, but this video captures the moment the fire started. Here, you see the very first group of children we sponsored as they prepared to leave for school.
For these kids, boarding to a vehicle for the first time wasn't just about a ride; it was about leaving behind a world of 'impossible' and entering a world of 'opportunity.' You can see the shift from uncertainty to hope as they realize that their blindness would no longer be a barrier to their brilliance. This was the day Marions Foundation moved from a dream to a reality."
"After the children settled into school, my wife and I traveled to visit them at their home. We went as sponsors, but we left as family.
The emotions of that day were overwhelming. We cried as we saw the resilience of these children firsthand. But it was a comment from the youngest boy that stayed with us forever. He looked at me and said that because he had nothing else to give, he asked God to take 10 years from his own life and add them to mine.
At that moment, he didn't see himself as a victim of his circumstances; he saw a future. He told us he wants to be a TV broadcaster when he grows up. He wants to be the voice for others, just like the news report that brought us to him."
"Today, the boys who once faced a world of darkness are stepping into the light of higher education.
In this video, our students—now young men—share their gratitude as they prepare for college. They have mastered the tools of the modern world and can now comfortably navigate computers, proving that blindness is no match for a determined mind.
One of our students is pursuing his dream of becoming a TV Broadcaster, ready to tell the stories of others. But as they reach this higher level of learning, their needs have grown. To succeed in university, they require specialized assistive technology: Braille laptops, screen-reading software, and high-tech recording equipment."
From Hope to Professionalism: Shaping the Next Generation
"Our journey continues with the inspiring story of two sisters who are now pursuing their dreams in higher education. One is dedicated to a Diploma in Education, preparing to teach future generations, while the other is pursuing Social Studies, committed to uplifting her community.
They have grown into responsible, brilliant young women who refuse to let their visual impairment define their limits. To support their rigorous college studies, Marions Foundation provided them with smartphones equipped with life-changing assistive technology.
Today, they use apps like Seeing AI and Be My Eyes to navigate their campuses, read textbooks, and participate in social activities with total independence. They are no longer just students; they are future leaders who prove that with the right tools, the impossible becomes a reality.".
A Mother’s Blessing: "You Didn't Just Give Them Schooling; You Gave Them a Future"
"Twelve years ago, we saw a mother’s heartbreak on the national news. Today, we see her pride.
In this final video, the mother of the children who started this entire journey shares her heart. She reflects on the long road from that day of despair to seeing her children grown, intelligent, and heading toward college.
Her words are a testament to what is possible when compassion meets action. She speaks not just for her own children, but for the dozens of other families who have found hope through Marions Foundation. Her gratitude is the greatest reward we could ever receive, and it is a gift we share with every person who has supported us along the way."

"Today, Marions Foundation stands at a historic crossroads. For 12 years, we have provided a lifeline for over 60 children across schools like Thika, Kibos, and Kapenguria. We have watched them grow from vulnerable children into brilliant college students and future professionals.
But to reach the hundreds of children still waiting, we must build a more permanent foundation.
Our Next Mission: The Marions Foundation Dormitories. We are partnering with existing schools to construct specialized, high-resource dormitories. These will not just be buildings; they will be sanctuaries designed specifically for the needs of visually impaired students. Within these walls, they will find the safety, assistive technology, and community they need to focus entirely on their education.
A lot more can be done, but we cannot do it alone. We have the vision, the 12-year track record, and the legal foundation. Now, we need the bricks. Whether you fund a single room, a piece of technology, or a student's basic needs, you are helping us build a home where dreams are protected.
Join us. Help us build the Marions Foundation Dormitories."
